REFLECTION

                  Information & Communications Technology is a term that covers all forms of computer and communications equipment and software used to create, store, transmit, interpret, and manipulate information in its various formats (e.g., business data, voice conversations, still images, motion pictures and multimedia presentations). In subject ICT of biology, there are many interesting applications I have learned. I already know the important and uses of ICT in smart school. I also learned how to carry out the experiment using data logger. A data logger is an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrument or sensor or via external instruments and sensors. Increasingly, but not entirely, they are based on a digital processor (or computer). They generally are small, battery powered, portable, and equipped with a microprocessor, internal memory for data storage, and sensors. 

             Besides that, I already learned how to make engage, empower and enhance model. This model are very good and must be used by the teachers at the school because it can elicit the students thinking and force student how to think well. Engage can help teachers make student thinks and know about the subject they wants to teach in class. In empower, there are procedure to carry out experiment, result and discussion. This can teach student know how to carry out experiment using data logger. They can know the important and the function of data logger vey well. After that, by using enhance model, student can know and more understand about the subject they learn because we used the everyday life situation that they commonly feel and see it as enhance model. This can make students felt happy in learning and want to know more about science.

                 In addition, there will be some values and difficulties for us to face through when using this model. The values is teachers can elicit the student thinking in classroom during the lesson. It is not good if teachers just standing in front of the class and give all information about lesson without gives chance to student to think and give their ideas. This model also can help teachers to make students understand very well about the topic. The difficulties of implementing this model are teachers must know well about the topic and have creative and innovative thinking to create the engage, empower and enhance. Teachers must have more ideas to make student understand and elicit student prior knowledge. Besides that, teachers also must know how to use and handle the data logger in experiment. So that, it is easy for student to learn it in class. 

             It is very suitable by using the data logger, simulation and modeling in learning process because it can help student more understand about the topic and can create interesting environment in class. Student will not felt bored and the potency for them to give attention in class in higher. Data logger is very suitable because it can save our time and we can get the good result in a short time. Student also no need to plot the graph because the data logger already give the best graph from the result. Simulation and modeling are two examples of the tool kit that can be used in the teaching and learning process. It can attract the student to learn because most of the student likes to see something new in their learning process. This can make the student to become more understand compared with just reading the books without can’t imagine how it works. Students will felt more interest when seeing the colourful lesson and can make them understand because the teachers can repeat back the application in a short time if they don’t get all the content.

                   However, there are some problems to use this application in school. Many school doesn’t have many data logger because they still doing experiment without using data logger. The tools also not in good conditions and they doesn’t have enough equipment of data logger. Although using data logger, we still have problem if we don’t know the sensor or data logger are damage or in problem. So, we will get the wrong result. Simulation and modeling are very interesting when using in class but it is difficult for us to find the good example related to our topic. It will take time to search them. In addition, not all teachers are excellent in ICT and don’t know very well how to conduct this application.

         This problem can be solved if all teachers conscious about this new application and try to know and learn deeply about it. The teachers must learn how to handle the data logger, simulation and modeling wisely. As a teacher in future, I will use this technologies and applications in my classroom and spread the benefit of application to all teachers in the school. The country also must prepared enough equipment in school for this new application. So that, all the teachers can practice this interesting application and model in their lesson. So, we will same level with other country that already use this new technologies many years ago.
